Dear readers,
Not all the children attended the Chocolatada in Aguano Muyuna, leaving us with leftover gifts. However, we discovered another opportunity to bring joy to a different group of children.
We directed our efforts towards supporting the “Vaso de Leche” Social Organization. This initiative, led by a dedicated group of mothers from Chazuta, focuses on providing milk to the underprivileged children in the community—approximately 50 children benefit from their efforts. Mrs. Palmir Mori, the group’s chairwoman, has devoted three years to ensuring that children receive the essential nourishment they need through milk.
Mrs. Palmir receives assistance from fellow mothers in the neighborhood, who take turns in the milk preparation process. Although the municipality of Chazuta provides monthly products for the milk, it only covers one week’s worth. For the remaining three weeks, there is a shortage of milk for the children unless additional donations are received.
Despite the evident importance of dairy in children’s growth, many parents lack the financial means to provide milk to their children. This is where the Vaso de Leche project steps in.
